This coming summer, Payomet Performing Arts Center will be offering five weeks of classes consisting of a themed theatre camp. Each 4-day camp will culminate in a shared performance day for parents and friends on the corresponding Friday at 11am. Literacy comprehension, critical thinking, and social relationships are all supported through theatrical experiences, as are growth of imagination, increase in self-confidence, and ownership over one’s voice, body, and actions.

Week 1: Stage Acting & Improvisation
Students will have the opportunity to explore the joy of acting and improvisation. Using various acting techniques, games, and exercises students will discover their own corporeal self, stretching their mind, muscles, and imagination. Students will encounter excerpts from both classic and modern works written for young audiences.

All classes require comfortable clothing easy to move in, and solid shoes, no flip flops please! Students should bring a water bottle, and if desired a small snack.
Instructor: Tessa Bry

We hope you will join us this summer as we create and explore together the power of theater for young audiences!
